Goonies Never Say Die!!! Let’s start this review by saying I love The Goonies., no that’s not enough I am a Goonie lol this movie mean so much to me and is kinda the inspiration on why I started up Nerdy Up North. But that’s a story for another day…
In my opinion this is one of the greatest adventure movies ever made… Yes I would put this up there with Raiders Of The Lost Ark, The Mummy and even Jurassic park. This has everything from pirate ships, booby traps, car chases and just a whole lot of fun. It’s a movie that takes you the viewer along for the ride. The cast is brilliant each having their own personlity and get chance to grow and shine in the group and individually. Who didn’t want to have friends like The Goonies as kids… I take that back I would love to have friends like this now!!!
This movie is 40 years old now and still stands the test of the time. The practical effects used in this movie all work perfectly and has one of the greatest water slide scenes ever made. There is a moment of pure magic in the movie where the cast saw the pirate shop in the movie it was genuinely the first time The Goonies saw the ship that was their genuine reactions and it’s cinema gold!!!
Some people say we love The Goonies because of nostalgia… maybe they are right but I dare anyone young and old to watch The Goonies and not feel something, that this movie doesn’t make you smile and take you back to feeling like a kid again.
Even if you haven’t seen the movie you will know The Goonies, heard the line HEY YOU GUYS or know about the truffle shuffle!!
I’ve been feeling really not well today and I watched this movie today because it’s my comfort movie. It’s my medicine you can say!!!
