Kagurabachi follows Chihiro Rokuhira, the son of the legendary swordsmith Kunishige Rokuhira. After his father's murder and the theft of six powerful enchanted blades, Chihiro embarks on a quest for revenge using a mysterious seventh enchanted sword forged in secret. Along the way, he faces dangerous sorcerers and powerful criminal organisations while gaining new friends and allies. Oh also there’s a ton of bad ass sword fights and brutal violence. But its not all flashy fights. Kagurabachi explores themes of grief, legacy, justice and the weight of revenge. One of Kagurabachi's biggest strengths is its artwork. Takeru Hokazono's cinematic artwork gives every battle a sense of movement and intensity. Sword fights have fluidity, while the mystical abilities of the blades create amazingly presented panels. The story presentation comes across like a modern action film, with beautifully choreographed fights and dramatic scenes. With a few big shonen animes coming to their end, Kagurabachi could be the anime to take their place. Maybe it wont be as popular as My Hero Academia, or Jujitsu Kaisen, but those animes pull in viewers from all age brackets. I would personally put Kagurabachi up there with something like Berserk, but just not as dark, and nobody as evil as Griffith (but nobody is as evil as Griffith) The series is scheduled to be released in April 2027, and it could become one of the biggest anime launches of the year. If you enjoy reading manga with high class visuals, deep storylines and constant lore drops and world building, or if youre just here for the sword fights then this is the manga for you. It combines stylish sword combat with supernatural powers, emotional character development and a revenge story that continues to evolve with each new chapter.
