We still don’t have any idea what exactly is going to happen in Spider-Man Brand New Day but going by the trailers here are 5 Spider-Man comics to get you ready for hitting the big screen.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day This is the number one recommendation. The film takes its title from this era of the comics, which follows Peter after a massive reset to his personal life. While the MCU's memory wipe is different from the comic version, both versions feature: • Peter starting over • Living alone • Being Spider-Man full-time • Rebuilding his life from scratch • A more street-level focus Now I doubt the film will be identical but its definitely going to have that feel

This could be the second most relevant comic. The trailers have hinted that Peter is undergoing a strange physical transformation. That has led many fans to suspect inspiration from The Other, where Spider-Man evolves and gains new spider-like abilities. At first it was thought we would be getting Man-Spider but I don’t think Marvel are brave enough to show us that yet.

One More Day is the comic that leads into Brand New Day. Similar to No Way Home • Peter's life is magically altered. • His relationships change. • His identity becomes secret again. Its very different to no way home but still it may have some relevance or references in there.

With Frank Castle and Spidey crossing paths this movie I will be disappointed if they don’t clash first before having to team up and take on a bigger threat, and what better comic to portray that than the one shot Spider-Man vs The Punisher

If Tombstone ends up playing the larger role many expect, these comics are worth reading. They show: • organised crime in New York • Spider-Man acting as a neighbourhood hero • brutal gang conflicts rather than multiverse threats This feels much closer to the direction the new film is taking. Personally I think the most important ones will be Spider-Man: Brand New Day The Other Those two together seem to match the film's biggest themes: Peter rebuilding his life while dealing with unexpected changes to his powers.
